Museums Around the World

Amazingly, this virtual museum site has reached almost 6 million who've visited it! The site provides a listing of museums around the world which are categorized by country/continent. When you click on the USA, it then gives the user a state list which can be clicked on as well. Museums, complete with addresses and a brief blurb about it are shown along with a direct link to their web page. I have truly enjoyed taking tours of some of these museums and some of their web pages are fantastic! Here is the website so that you can check it out for yourself: http://icom.museum/vlmp/world.html
Let me know what you think.

I just visited the Rodin Museum in France. While I was there, I went to the gift shop (of course) and there I had the amazing idea of visiting other gift shops through this fascinating site. What a wonderful way to find the perfect gift for the person who has everything!

Beatrice-

This site give so much insight into museums around the world.

Students would find it interesting to explore different types of museums. For example, the 3rd graders in our school every year study China. It would be fun for them to take a virtual museum tour. What a great way to study more about the culture of a country.

Thanks for sharing!

I know I'm a little late with this, but I think this site is a fantastic idea. This would be a great one to bookmark on del.icio.us and access when traveling...I just might do that.

One of the features I loved the best was that it included direct links to the English version of the web page if it was available. I also liked that the country names were links to sites that listed all the museums in that country.

The only thing I found disappointing is that many of the links were dead. I tried several including France, Finland, New Zealand, Malaysia, etc. It really is in need of an update.
