DyKnow Vision and Classroom Engagement

I have feverishly been trying to reactivate the title bar for this blog but cannot get it to work-so I've put the title in the text. Sorry!

I read and looked through slides from a presentation done by David Berque from DePauw University entitled Fostering Classroom Engagement with Electronic Whiteboards, Tablet PCs, and DyKnow Vision.

The main points of the presentation were:
--How to make the classroom more engaging and interactive.
--How teachers and students get feedback more quickly.
--How evaluation results are readily available in the system for students after they log on.

The presentation offers concrete examples for classroom exploration and use. Check it out at this site:

Hi Beatrice,

Thank you so much for the link to this great audio clip. The technology was so well explained. I really liked that this professor talked about the different pedagogical uses of the software. It seems, from my understanding, that DyKnow is software that can be used in conjunction with tablet PCs and interactive whiteboards. This software sounds so wonderful with all the capabilities is offers. I love the potential for instant feedback for both students and teachers. I also love that it makes students more engaged and accountable, especially in the big lecture hall type settings in universities. The dynamic replay feature is also so nice.

I am fortunate enough to have just gotten a Smart board. I also have these small airliners, which are mini-versions of the Smartboard. I would love to find out how I might be able to use this technology in a similar way. I have so much to learn...so little time.

There are so many possibilities for our students. If only we could get the funds to equipe our classrooms and libraries each with an interactive whiteboard, tablet pcs for each student and this DyKnow software. Listening to this lecture sparked my imagination and got me thinking about the libraries of the future. So exicting. I hope I live to see it.

I got so excited hearing this prof. describe how to use DyKnow that I want to see this technology in action. Are there any videos available?

Also, DyKnow seems to lend itself easily to the university context. Have any elementary schools or even any K-12 schools begun using it?
